Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This app is a companion: a cat that lives on your iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: your health data, the diary and your settings never leave your devices. What you write to the cat is sent to an AI language model only if you allow it, and is not kept.
What the app stores on your devices
The cat you chose and the name you gave it, your chat with the cat, its diary, when you answered its meal and water reminders, and your settings. All of this is stored only on your iPhone and Apple Watch, and in your own device backups if you use them.
Chat and the AI language model
The first time you write to the cat, the app asks whether your messages may be answered by an AI language model. You can change your answer at any time in the app's settings, under Chat.
If you say no, the cat answers from simple rules inside the app, and nothing you write leaves your device.
If you say yes, each message you send goes over an encrypted connection to our server in the United States, together with the last few messages of the same conversation and a short description of your cat: its name, its character, what it is doing and the time of day. Our server passes these to a third-party AI service, OpenRouter, which we restrict to model providers in the United States that keep no record of the content and do not use it to train models. The reply comes back the same way.
Our server does not store or log what you write or what the cat replies. To count messages, it keeps a number per day against a random identifier that the app makes up for itself. That identifier is not connected to your name, your Apple Account or your device's own identifiers, and the count is deleted after 30 days. Like any server, ours sees the internet address a request comes from. It uses the address to limit how fast requests can arrive and may record it when a request fails, to find faults. The address is never stored with what you wrote.
Messages you wrote while this setting was off, and anything the cat said from its simple rules, are not sent later as part of a conversation.
Health data
With your permission, the app reads these items from Apple Health: step count, exercise minutes, heart rate, and activity rings. They are used only to decide what the cat is doing and saying, such as exercising along with you or celebrating when your rings are closed.
Health data is read on your device. It is never sent anywhere, including to the AI language model, never shared with anyone, and never used for advertising. While the cat is reacting to your health data, it answers from its simple rules and your message is not sent. The app does not write to Apple Health. You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.
The app is not a medical device. What the cat says about your heart rate or activity is not medical advice.
Subscription
The app is free. An optional subscription removes the daily limit on messages answered by the AI language model. Purchases are handled by Apple, and we never see your payment details. To check that a subscription is running, the app sends our server the purchase record that Apple signed. It holds the product, the dates of purchase and expiry and Apple's transaction numbers, and nothing that names you. Our server keeps only a fingerprint of that record and its expiry date, and deletes them 30 days after the subscription runs out.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device. No push notification service is used.
What the app does not do
There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and there is no third-party software inside the app.
Your choices
Turn off "Answer with a language model" in the app's settings to stop sending messages. "Choose Another Cat" in settings erases the chat and the diary from your device. Because our server keeps no messages, there is nothing of yours there to delete.
Children
The app is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If a future version changes how information is handled, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the app will ask you first where your permission is needed.
